Lisha has been talking about these sand sculptures for a while. She almost went up to Syracuse to pick up the cylinders, and I almost went with her. This is the first time I've seen them. All day at the studio I couldn't help but talk about what they reminded me of. Mountains, sediment, storms. Petrified rocks. Layers of the earth. I love how small she is next to this one. www.lishabai.com
This is me jumping off the Windjammer Ship in the Caribbean, where I was shooting a November story for Budget Travel Magazine. If I remember correctly, we're anchored at Mayrou Island. This photo was shot by the wonderful Kelsey Foster.
